Job Description

Your Team
The Global Security Department (GSD) is a converged security model that includes the Chief Security Officer (CSO) along with eight other Director level direct reports. GSD consists of this Director of Crisis Management as well as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), Director of Strategic Intelligence, Director of Corporate Security, Director of Business Resilience, Chief Privacy Officer, Director of the Business Security Officer, and the Director of Projects and Strategy.

The Crisis Management functions will consist of approximately 19 employees across five functions: Crisis Management, Business Continuity, Cyber Incident Response, Third-Party Security Risk and Exercises/Testing

Your Role
Invesco is looking for a leader to drive the transformation to enhance and evolve our Crisis Management program. The Director of Crisis Management will design, implement, and execute a robust strategy build on the existing programs and to create synergies with Enterprise Resilience, corporate security, enterprise risk management, cyber security, strategic intel and technology incident response. The Crisis Management leader is responsible for overseeing multiple teams that have 24/7 follow the sun models to support Cyber Incident Response, BC and CM. The leader is responsible for leading Invesco's leadership and the business during critical incidents with impact to the business at Invesco. The leader will need to have the ability to learn, navigate and build relationships with leaders across Invesco, including the Executive Leadership Team (ELT). With this position growing in responsibility to take on BC and Third-Party Security Risk functions, it will require a review to determine the most effective and efficient organizational model.

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Leading a team through the full talent cycle including hiring, development and performance management

  • Leading the daily SitRep call to coordinate cross functional activities that occur each day.

  • Participating in Technology Major Incident calls to determine if an escalation is needed

  • Leading the development and oversight of Invesco playbooks and plans

  • Leading the exercise component that will deliver exercises to test Important Business Services (IBSs) and Invesco's ability to respond to and recover from local, regional and global incidents impacting the business or Invesco as a whole.

  • All Incident Management for BC, CM, CIRT and Third-Party incidents

  • Working with Technology on developing and facilitating Disaster Recovery testing

  • Providing briefings for situational awareness to Senior leaders and the Global Security Department, and manage after actions reviews


The Experience You Bring:

  • 10+ years experience in leading and managing Crisis Management programs and crises

  • 10 + years managing people

  • A proven leader with strong leadership experience and qualities are needed to lead this function decisively during incident management

  • Team building and collaboration experience is critical to success in working well withing GSD, but also across many other functions in Technology, the business and ELT.

  • Strong organization skills with the ability to manage many simultaneous activities

  • A strong background in crisis management and/or business continuity.

  • A strong background in global incident management able to execute with command and control

  • A background leading/facilitating tabletop exercises and developing After-Action Reports (AARs)

  • A strong understanding of security functions, including Cyber Security, will prove beneficial

  • Critical and forward thinker capable of analyzing complex situations and delivering innovative solutions

  • Able to manage risk in volatile and uncertain times

  • Relationship builder who works successfully with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders in a diverse, global and matrixed arena

  • Experience working within the intelligence and business continuity, crisis management communities dealing with risk/threat issues and business continuity disruptive events

  • Accountable for managing strategy, projects, personnel and budget for the CM program
