Cooperative Relationships with: Director of Meat Operations, Director of Warehouse and Logistics, Applications Manager, Production Managers, and Warehouse Employees.
Positions that Report to you: Buyers and Inventory Control Specialist
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintaining and ensuring food safety. Report any food safety deviations to your supervisor immediately.
Reports to work when scheduled and on time. Adheres to company policies and departmental guidelines.
Responsible for proper replenishment of supplies, ingredients, and packaging using FIFO.
Maintains theoretical inventory as indicated by service software Process Pro. Some items deviate from this because of specials, seasonality, weather, price demands, etc.
Completes and responsible for all month end, quarter end, and year-end inventory functions.
Takes advantage of forward buys to the extent shelf life and storage facilities permit and taking into consideration constraints of the transportation and warehouse departments.
Seeks out methods to reduce costs in total system without jeopardizing quality or safety.
Insure proper controls and processes are in place for PO’s by verifying shipping and receiving paperwork.
Places vendor orders in a timely manner such that consideration to production schedules will be taken in to account.
Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.
Create and manage relationships with outside sales representatives and ingredient vendors.
Performs inventory counts as needed on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
Troubleshoot inaccurate data.
Prepares reports unavailable in Process Pro using Excel.
Other duties as assigned by management.

Must be knowledgeable of warehouse distribution, safety program, procedures, laws and regulations, sanitation practices and standards.
Ability to handle confidential information.
Education and Experience:
High school education.
Bachelor’s degree in statistics, business math, or related field strongly preferred.
3-5 years’ experience in related food industry required.
1-2 years buying experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
This is considered a semi-skilled position. Frequent to constant handling, grasping of paper, constant listening, talking, hearing, writing, seeing, reading, dealing with people, influencing others, evaluating information and supervising.
Working Conditions:
Duties split between an office setting and warehouse locations.
Frequent deadlines exist while handling multiple tasks.
Able to bend, stoop and lift up to 50 pounds on a daily basis.
Equipment Used to Perform Job:
Photocopier, fax machine, office telephone system, Microsoft Office, 10-key Calculator, two-way radio. Required to wear steel-toed footwear, safety glasses, and hard hat in the warehouse and plant.
