Senior Software Engineer, Discovery - Data
Skills
- Extensive experience building and maintaining large-scale data infrastructure.
- Strong Python programming for data pipeline development.
- Deep understanding of data modeling, indexing strategies, and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with backend technologies including databases and GraphQL APIs.
- Product sense to assess valuable data extraction and user experience design.
- Experience with LLM-powered data extraction, search systems, or agentic workflows.
- Systems-level thinking with ability to design scalable data serving paths.
Responsibilities
- Architect and implement large-scale Python-based data pipelines for structured startup, people, and investment data.
- Enhance data extraction and reconciliation processes using dynamic agents.
- Own data quality benchmarks across coverage, freshness, and accuracy.
- Identify and integrate new data sources and ingestion techniques to optimize performance and quality.
- Collaborate across backend stack components, including databases, search indices, and GraphQL APIs, to deliver data within the product.
- Partner with AI/ML, Data Ops, and Product teams to meet quality and performance OKRs and develop revenue-driving data products.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required.
- Advanced degree preferred but not mandatory.
