Your Impact

Speech and Feeding Therapist

  • Utilize ASHA and other research-based guidelines to complete evaluation, treatment, consultation, and discharge planning for infants and children in an outpatient clinic in accordance with licensure and clinic requirements
  • Creating and carrying out individualized treatment plans that address needs and goals.
  • Individualized training program to learn holistic and thorough approach for any knowledge gaps in infant feeding including young infants
  • Detailed and thorough communication with child’s healthcare providers through progress reports, phone calls, or other forms of communication
  • Help develop new programs and/or services
  • Participate in training and staff meetings
  • Documentation in EHR system
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Age range of caseload is primarily early infancy through 18 months with some toddlers, preschoolers, and early elementary.
  • Primarily in-clinic with some preschool and childcare center visits and occasional home visits

Minimum Qualifications

Speech and Feeding Therapist

  • Master’s degree from accredited speech language pathology program with certificate of clinical competency
  • 3+ years prior experience with infants to 5-year-olds, including infant feeding OR myofunctional therapy
  • Continuing education courses on infant feeding, myofunctional therapy, and TOTs may substitute for part of young infant experience
  • Current NC license for speech language pathology in good standing
  • Must have, or be eligible to obtain, a valid driver’s license and driving record within the standards outlined within Hanger’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures. 

           

Head Shape and/or Infant/Toddler Feeding Occupational Therapist

  • Master’s degree from accredited Occupational Therapy program
  • 3+ years prior experience with infants to 3-year-olds
  • Experience with infants to 3-year-olds preferred
  • Feeding experience with infants and/OR young toddlers (Must have an interest in infant feeding)
  • NBCOT certification
  • Current state licensure in good standing, where required

 

Must have, or be eligible to obtain, a valid driver’s license and driving record within the standards outlined within Hanger’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures.
