Gridwise is on its way to becoming the de facto operating platform for gig drivers and offer solutions that empower the entire ecosystem with solutions built to improve the way people and goods move.

The Role

Gridwise is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Mobile Software Engineer to join our App team. This role will primarily be responsible for owning and leading the technical design and implementation of new features for our gig driver React Native mobile app. As a senior-level individual contributor you will also be responsible for mentoring fellow engineers and working cross functionally to advise on project scope, complexity, and effort.

What you're responsible for

• Work as a part of a small team consisting of engineering, product, and design

• Own the development of new app features and UI components from prototypes and wireframes

• Leverage Native APIs for tight integrations across both Android and iOS platforms

• Take initiative to introduce and execute on mobile CI/CD strategies to streamline development and release cycles

• Write automated tests to ensure error-free code and performance

• Actively work to disseminate and elevate the team knowledge and skill sets in code, tooling, and automation through documentation, demos, code review and discussion

• Create frontend modules with maximum code reusability and efficiency

• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to plan, build, and deliver projects with a sense of urgency

• Provide technical mentorship and constructive feedback to fellow engineers

What we're looking for

• 6+ years of mobile engineering experience

• 3+ years functioning in a senior Mobile Engineering role

• 3+ years of experience working on and deploying mobile applications to production using React Native, Typescript

• In-depth knowledge of JavaScript, CSS, HTML, functional programming, and frontend frameworks

• Strong knowledge of React fundamentals such as Virtual DOM, component lifecycle, and component state

• A complete understanding of the full mobile app development lifecycle from prototyping to releases and maintenance

• Demonstrated ability and inclination to make critical system-level design decisions and drive projects from start to finish to deliver according to requirements

• Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and maintaining React Native automated testing frameworks and tools

Exceptional Candidates May Have:

• Experience with modern mobile app release strategies such as OTA updates

• Prior high-growth startup experience

• Experience in the mobility industry
