Senior Database Design Engineer for cArmy Systems

Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related Science or Mathematics field. Also requires 2+ years of job-related experience or a Master's degree.

 

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has a need for a Senior Database Design Engineer.

 

Expected Duties:

• Familiarity with U.S. Army machine learning initiatives and programs (e.g., cArmy, Project Maven, Vantage Data Analytics Program) and experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure).
• Design, develop, and implement database applications to meet user needs, including establishing database management systems, standards, and guidelines.
• Analyze informational needs, data relationships, data flow, storage requirements, and reporting capabilities.
• Document and communicate database design; code complex programs and derive logical processes on technical platforms.
• Assist in designing user interfaces and business application prototypes; build windows, screens, and reports.
• Participate in quality assurance and develop test application code in a client-server environment.
• Provide expertise in devising, negotiating, and defending database tables and fields; adapt business requirements and develop database specifications.
• Model, design, develop, and implement NoSQL/non-relational database applications, including object-oriented, column, document, and graph technologies.
• Travel may be required; security clearance required.

Expected Skills:

• Demonstrate skillful judgment in selecting methods and techniques for database architectures and work on diverse scope problems requiring interfacing and support to cloud and AI/ML services.
• Experience with creating and using data architectures for distributed data and strong programming, scripting, and querying skills.
• Familiarity with data mining, statistical analysis, pattern recognition, or predictive modeling.
• Understand various data structures and common methods in data transformation.
• Clearly present new concepts through oral, visual, and written communications.
• Show initiative on assignments, exercise independent judgment, and professionally execute projects with little direction.

Salary Note

Combined Salary Range

USD $87,324.00 - USD $96,875.00 /Yr.
