We are seeking a Quality Engineer to join our team supporting the Uranium Processing Facility! This position is full-time and will be based out of Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Responsibilities
Perform independent review and inspection to ensure completeness of Quality Verification Documents regarding manufacturing, fabrication, installation and testing of systems serving multiple buildings for the Uranium Processing Facility (UPF).
Review completed work, technical documents, and inspection records in the following areas of construction subcontract systems:
HVAC
Fire Detection, Protection, and Suppression
Insulation
Coatings
Asphalt Installation
Provide independent review of Inspection Records and Technical Document Submittals.
Perform field inspections and testing, including certifying inspection/test reports upon completion.
Exercise provision of staff to support inspection of subcontractor installations which includes preparation of documentation of deficiencies identified.
Exercise provision of staff to support TECAM closures.
Requirements
Education & Years of Experience – Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Systems, (Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline) and 5+ years of relevant experience; additional experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
Citizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work.
Clearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.
Must be able to analyze data, test results, and technical specifications to make informed decisions.
Must display technical proficiency using engineering software and tools.
About the Site
The Uranium Processing Facility (UPF) is a construction project at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tennessee that is intended to modernize and replace aging facilities for uranium operations. Once complete, UPF will support the nation's nuclear weapons stockpile, naval reactors, and defense nuclear nonproliferation while ensuring the long-term safety, security, and viability of enriched uranium capabilities in the United States.
