Our reputation in the industry is solid, we are poised for further growth, and we have a prudent strategy to achieve this goal. -GARY DEJIDAS, P.E., MBA, GAI PRESIDENT AND CEO

Brief History of the Firm. Founded in 1958 by Carnegie Mellon University engineering graduate students, GAI developed a strong professional reputation in foundation engineering by supporting the needs of nationally-recognized industrial and energy clients. In the late 1960s, and in response to urban growth and mounting environmental regulations, GAI diversified into transportation and land development while adding niche services in survey, environmental studies, and cultural resources, setting GAI apart from more traditional engineering firms. Strategic decisions to open offices located near our clients in growing markets throughout the U.S. led to the rapid growth of our firm. Corporate-wide consolidation of strategic acquisitions diversified our firm and transformed GAI into a premier engineering, planning, economic and environmental firm in the U.S. and abroad.

Our People

We are engineers, planners, archeologists, surveyors, and environmental specialists. We are technicians, designers, administrators, and communicators.

Here at GAI, we offer you the opportunity to work, learn, grow, and lead in a supportive environment alongside accomplished colleagues.

60 years strong and 100-percent employee owned, GAI is the right place for talented and motivated individuals who seek to distinguish themselves in a company poised for unlimited growth.

Giving Back

“GAI has a Corporate philosophy of encouraging a culture of giving back to the communities we serve. I’m very proud of the effort our staff made for The United Way as the firm’s 2017 Charity of Choice along with all the other year round charitable activities that have occurred!” - Gary DeJidas, PE, Chairman & CEO

GAI is proud to support and encourage employee involvement in philanthropic efforts, including our annual charity of choice partnership as well as mentorships, volunteerism, and participation in community events in various cities, townships and municipalities in which we live, work, and play.

  • “iGaive” is GAI’s corporate flag for giving—an acknowledgement of a generous and caring team spirit. This employee-driven initiative was sparked by a special class project under GAI’s Leadership Development program.
  • GAI employees give from the heart year-round. Whether a “Pass it Forward” act of kindness in their immediate community, or a compassion for others wherever they may be, giving is part of our corporate culture.
  • That we “make a difference” is more than client-speak at GAI—it defines our corporate family.
