Cloud Engineer

Florida Realtors is seeking a Cloud Engineer who plays a mission-critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining Florida Realtors’ cloud infrastructure to ensure high performance, security, and scalability.

• THIS ROLE REQUIRES TWO DAYS EACH WEEK IN-OFFICE WORK IN ORLANDO, FL.
• THIS ROLE DOES NOT HAVE A RELOCATION BUDGET AND IS NOT BEING GIVEN TIME TO RELOCATE; small considerations may be made for someone who can immediately relocate if offered the role

Acting as the subject matter expert for AWS, this role builds reliable cloud solutions that empower our association’s operations and digital services. Partnering closely with IT Operations, Applications Development, and Network teams, the Cloud Engineer drives innovation, optimizes resources, and strengthens resiliency through automation and best practices.

This is a hands-on technical role where the incumbent not only manages the current AWS environment but also helps shape the association’s cloud strategy, balancing operational excellence, cost-effectiveness, and future scalability.

Essential Functions

• Manage existing AWS accounts, set up new accounts, and configure account-level security and access control settings.
• Design, configure, deploy, and maintain AWS services, including EC2 instances, S3 buckets, Aurora databases, Lambda, and VPCs.
• Ensure the security of AWS resources by implementing appropriate security measures, managing IAM policies, monitoring for threats, and responding to incidents.
• Collaborate with the Network Operations team to configure AWS networking components, such as VPCs, subnets, route tables, security groups, and VPN connections.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to support efficient application deployment.
• Configure monitoring and logging tools to track performance, identify issues, and ensure system health.
• Utilize automation tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, and AWS CLI to streamline resource deployment and management.
• Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies to protect critical data and minimize downtime.
• Monitor and optimize resource usage for cost efficiency and scalability.
• Provide secondary support for additional Florida Realtors IT environments as needed.
• Stay current with AWS technologies, industry trends, and recommend process improvements.

Education & Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• AWS certifications, such as AWS Certified CloudOps Engineer or AWS Certified Solutions Architect, are a plus.

Position Requirements

• 2 years minimum proven experience as a Cloud Engineer or in a similar AWS-focused role.
• Strong understanding of AWS services (EC2, S3, Aurora, VPCs, IAM, Lambda, etc.).
• Experience with automation tools such as AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Strong knowledge of cloud security best practices.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices (Git, Docker, CI/CD).
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, CloudTrail, etc.).
• Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to thrive independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Clumio for AWS backup/recovery.
• Experience with Wiz Cloud Security Platform (CSPM, CIEM, CWP).
• Experience with Windows Server OS and Red Hat Enterprise Linux OS.
• Previous experience with SolarWinds products.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position is an individual contributor role and does not manage employees of the Technology Services Department.
