Staff Product Manager - FinTech & Ops

Faire is an online wholesale marketplace connecting independent retailers and brands worldwide. The Staff Product Manager - FinTech & Ops will lead product strategy and delivery for payments, underwriting/identity, support automation, returns/resale, and the shared experimentation/platform infrastructure that enables operational efficiency and growth.

Skills

  • Experiment design (A/B, holdouts), causal inference, cohort analysis and metric attribution
  • Deep payments knowledge: processors, routing strategies, payment rails and merchant economics
  • Decisioning and underwriting: IDV, policy design, low-latency APIs and recoverability controls
  • Operational product experience partnering with Finance, Risk, CX, and Operations
  • Strong cross-functional leadership, stakeholder management and executive communication
  • Data-driven analysis and comfort with analytics tools/SQL and collaboration with Data Science

Responsibilities

  • Own a 6–12 month roadmap balancing efficiency experiments, growth pilots, and platform investments with accountability for contribution profit uplift.
  • Design and run rigorous A/B, cohort, and holdout experiments with pre-specified success criteria measuring CP, CX risk, GMV and LTV.
  • Lead decisioning product work: returns/markdowns, underwriting and IDV policies, payment routing rules, and low-latency decision APIs integrating deterministic rules and ML.
  • Improve payment economics via multi-provider routing and adoption of lower-cost payment rails to reduce fees and free margin for growth.
  • Expand self-solve support modalities and virtual assistant adoption to reduce contact rate while preserving customer satisfaction.
  • Redesign returns and resale flows and partner on liquidation to recover margin to fund growth investments.
  • Document and present tradeoffs (automation vs human, build vs buy, growth vs efficiency) to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Empower operational teams to iterate and self-serve with limited engineering bandwidth and represent product in operational forums.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience preferred
  • Advanced degree (MBA/MA/MS) is optional but beneficial
