Skills
- Proficient in Go and/or Python for backend service development
- Experience designing and optimizing REST APIs and SQL/Postgres queries
- Proven experience building and scaling distributed, highly available systems
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP) and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform)
- Strong debugging, performance tuning, and troubleshooting abilities
- Effective communication and collaboration in agile environments
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services in Go and Python powering ExtraHop products
- Build and maintain public REST APIs and scalable data pipelines
- Participate in and lead agile development, code reviews, and technical design discussions
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers
- Drive technical ownership by addressing technical debt and improving system reliability
- Implement data migrations, configuration management, and database scalability solutions
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (required)
- Advanced degree in a related field (preferred)
