EXPANSIA is excited to design, implement, and mature a secure, scalable Integrated Digital Environment (IDE) that enables Digital Engineering, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) integration across the developing US Hypersonic enterprise and industrial base. Located at the new aerospace research and test complex, this facility is poised to become the nation’s premier hub for hypersonic system research, modeling & simulation, and test capabilities. 


As a Systems Engineer II, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, evaluating, and modifying end-to-end systems and systems-oriented products throughout their life cycle. You will work under general supervision, applying technical standards and principles to solve moderate-scope technical challenges. Your responsibilities will include generating quantifiable requirements, ensuring compliance with client and government standards, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to refine implementation strategies. You will participate in system conceptual design, interface development, and performance assessment to ensure all system elements work seamlessly together. Additionally, you will engage in testing and verification activities, ensuring all contractual requirements are met while supporting broader business development initiatives. 


The proposed salary range for this position is $87,380-$109,224. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design, develop, evaluate, and modify system-oriented products throughout their life cycle 
  • Generate system requirements based on customer descriptions, system planning, and acquisition logistics 
  • Ensure compliance with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods 
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop lower-level implementation requirements 
  • Support the development of standards, practices, and procedures related to product development 
  • Design and integrate system interfaces to ensure seamless interoperability of system elements 
  • Assess system performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures 
  • Participate in design reviews to ensure traceability of requirements through compliance verification and validation 
  • Develop and execute system-level verification procedures and customer acceptance test plans 
  • Review test plans and procedures to ensure alignment with contractual objectives and participate in system testing activities 
  • Provide technical support to operational strategies aligned within your program and initiatives that optimize processes, enhance productivity, and ensure quality across all program functions 
  • Ensure 100% of planned hours are worked and recorded 
  • Identify and forward to your leadership any opportunities that could lead to growth within your work area 
  • Participate in growth efforts as requested 
  • Ensure all contractual deliverables are met/exceeded to the customer's satisfaction 
  • Complete personal PDP and attend Staff Meeting and Storytime (with camera on) 
  • Within your program, build productive and positive professional relationships with clients 
  • Execute all contract requirements as assigned in accordance with the contract-specific LCAT and requirements 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned 


KEY QUALIFICATIONS
  • Clearance: Active Secret clearance 
  • Education and Years of Experience: Bachelor's (or equivalent) with 2 - 4 years of experience, or a Master's with 0 - 2 years of experience 

  • Experience applying technical standards, principles, and theories to solve moderate-scope technical challenges 
  • Ability to generate system requirements and collaborate with cross-functional teams on implementation strategies 
  • Familiarity with system conceptual design, performance assessments, and verification methods 
  • Strong analytical skills to assess technical performance measures and ensure system compliance 


PREFERRED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Knowledge of system modeling, simulation tools, and requirements management processes 
  • Experience in hardware and software integration for system development projects 
  • Understanding of government regulations and industry standards for system engineering 
  • Exposure to system verification and validation methodologies 
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills to support technical and business development initiatives 
  • Industry certifications (ex: CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Certified, AWS/Azure Fundamentals) preferred  
  • Experience with system design supporting aerospace systems
