Responsibilities

As a Technical Writer on our team, you'll support the drafting, writing, editing, formatting, proof reading, and document management and maintenance of required system technical documents for a family of systems. You will be responsible for the preparation, review, revision, and maintenance of technical documents and will work closely with the Task Leads and coordinate with System and Software Engineers, System Administrators, Information Assurance, and System Testers to ensure all required system documentation remains update-to-date and in compliance with government provided templates. 

Qualifications

You Have: 

  

• Experience with preparing and/or maintaining systems documentation including software version description documents, trusted facility manuals, installation and checkout procedures, hardware and operating system manuals, ports and protocols descriptions, system operations reference manuals, and training guides  
• Experience working with developers and engineers to gather technical information and produce high quality technical documentation and training material  
• Experience utilizing content organization, management, and access services like SharePoint, Confluence, or Jira  
• Experience researching existing data and documentation to maximize use of previously developed text and/or illustrations  
• Ability to maintain a library of government provided templates  
• TS/SCI with a polygraph  
• Associate degree and 2+ years of experience with IT-based technical writing, documentation management, and publishing associated with sustainment, maintenance, configuration control, and/or system security for computer systems, IT infrastructure, software, and/or system support services or HS Diploma and 5+ years of experience with IT-based technical writing, documentation management, and publishing associated with sustainment, maintenance, configuration control, and/or system security for computer systems, IT infrastructure, software, and/or system support services  

 

Nice to Have: 

• Experience using MS Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) 
• Experience with Basic manipulation of graphics (jpg, tiff, pdf, png) 
• Experience interpreting technical drawings and other technical graphics 
• Experience conducting research and ensuring use of proper technical terminology 
• Experience organizing and writing according to an established standard 
• Experience with and/or working knowledge of IT systems and common IT terminology 

 

 

Clearance:  Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance with a polygraph is required.   

 

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $62.50 per hour in our lowest geographic market up to $81.73 per hour in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Dependent on the position offered, sign-on payments, relocation, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of full paid medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
