EAG Laboratories is seeking a skilled Scientist to support our analytical services including Electron Microscopy and Atom Probe. We work with leading-edge technology companies across a wide range of industries, helping to design and manufacture the electronics of tomorrow. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative, research-driven environment focused on precision and innovation.
This is an exciting opportunity for a talented Scientist to join our Milpitas (Nanolab) team and contribute to high-impact analytical services. You’ll play a key role in customer interaction, specimen preparation, data collection, and analysis to support our clients.
A typical day will consist of multiple activities, including:
Collaborate with team members to deliver high-quality analysis to clients.
Prepare TEM (Transmission Electron Microscopy) and APT (Atom Probe Tomography) specimens using FIB (Focused Ion Beam).
Operate CAMECA LEAP for data acquisition and data analysis using AP Suite6 software.
Perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance.
Coordinate with equipment vendors to minimize downtime.
Conduct data processing and reporting.
Document and report analytical findings clearly and accurately.
Work cross-functionally with internal teams on integrated microscopy projects.
This position works with companies that deal with defense-related activities and is subject to ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations). All considered applicants must be U.S. Persons as defined by ITAR:
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, *5:00 PM – 2:00 AM *(+10% shift differential will apply)
MS or PhD degree in Materials Science and Engineering or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of experience on specimen preparation using FIB for TEM or APT.
Skilled in handling delicate, chip-sized samples with precision tools.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with CAMECA LEAP instrument.
Familiarity with automated specimen fabrication using FIB/SEM systems.
Experience and knowledge with semiconductor technologies and processes.
Experience with APT data analysis using customized coding programs.
