Principal Backend Software Engineer
Skills
- Expert-level C# and ASP.NET MVC development
- Strong relational database skills (MS SQL Server, T-SQL, stored procedures)
- Software design principles, patterns, and architecture
- Test-driven development and unit testing practices
- Experience with SDLC and Agile methodologies
- Performance optimization and secure development practices
- Familiarity with microservices, distributed systems and cloud (AWS) is a plus
- Frontend framework experience (Angular or similar) is a plus
- Excellent communication, documentation, and project estimation skills
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy core backend modules for the elluminate platform
- Contribute to application architecture with a focus on scalability, maintainability, security, and performance
- Write unit tests, participate in code reviews, and follow best practices including TDD where applicable
- Collaborate with QA to validate functionality and provide diagnostic support and defect fixes for releases
- Estimate work effort, manage timelines, and participate in release management
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training to other engineers
- Document designs, acceptance criteria, release notes, and related software artifacts
- Ensure compliance with company and industry quality standards, regulations, and procedures
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field preferred
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field is a plus
- Equivalent professional experience accepted
