Responsibilities
- Monitor and respond to security alerts from SIEMs, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and antivirus software.
- Serve as an escalation point for Tier 1 analysts, triaging and documenting incidents thoroughly.
- Investigate security threats through analysis of network traffic, endpoint logs, and event histories.
- Implement security measures such as IP blocks and attack surface reduction strategies.
- Provide analytical support using tools like Wireshark and tcpdump for network traffic characterization.
- Collaborate with internal teams to validate alerts and improve incident response processes.
- Create and maintain documentation of incidents and processes, and mentor junior team members.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in IT security or related fields.
