The Compliance Specialist supports the development and implementation of our compliance program, policies, reporting, and practices. This role will focus on the annual compliance risk assessment, auditing and monitoring plan, along with the compliance education and training program. Creates and utilizes existing internal controls and auditing systems to identify, detect, and correct noncompliance.

 

Schedule: Full-time, remote considered, travel to our corporate offices will be required from time to time.  

 

Compensation: Pay range $65,000-$75,000, depending on experience

Responsibilities

What You Can Expect:

 

  • Auditing and monitoring organizational compliance – review the company’s business practices to ensure that they are following pertinent regulations.
  • Interprets and applies the Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, and Stark Law to DCI policies and procedures and business operations.
  • Monitors referral source arrangements and other compliance-related policies.
  • Partners with other compliance teammates, regulatory attorneys, business attorneys, IT, finance, accounting, and business clients in identifying and resolving compliance matters.
  • Responsible for partnering with business, legal, and compliance stakeholders to oversee the identification and development of process improvement initiatives that streamline current processes to create efficiencies and reduce compliance risk.
  • Partners with internal audit teams to design an annual compliance auditing plan.
  • Monitors changes in relevant regulatory areas to assess compliance program gaps.

Qualifications

Successful Candidates Bring:

  • Ability to manage and prioritize work.
  • Desire to continually challenge the status quo and ensure processes are accomplishing their goal and do not become ineffective or stagnant.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams proactively to identify risks and ensure appropriate risk mitigation strategies are in place.
  • Ability to proactively communicate clearly compliance risk to leadership.
  • Ability to use data and systems to help make decisions and accomplish broader compliance risk mitigation strategies.

Education/Training:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience required.
  • An understanding of healthcare regulations is required.
  • Minimum 3 years of healthcare compliance experience developing a program in adherence to the False Claims Act, Anti-Kickback Statute, and/or Stark Law regulations.
  • Experience or understanding of dialysis experience preferred.
  • Experience implementing monitoring and auditing functions preferred.
  • Advanced computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook required.
