Associate Director, Creative Strategy

DEPT® is a global digital agency and B Corp combining technology, marketing, and creative services to build integrated digital experiences for major brands. They are seeking an Associate Director, Creative Strategy to translate insight and performance data into emotionally resonant creative platforms, lead and mentor a team of strategists, and align brand and performance across global campaigns.

  • Experience with global campaign complexity and multi-market coordination
  • Trend awareness in culture, creators, and digital formats
  • Cross-functional collaboration with Analytics and Media teams
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and providing structured POVs

Responsibilities

  • Lead creative strategy from insight to brief, translating audience, category, and cultural signals into storytelling opportunities.
  • Translate data, research, and performance learnings into actionable messaging and creative direction for performance creative.
  • Own and elevate strategic brief development, setting narrative, insight, and messaging foundations.
  • Mentor and manage Creative Strategists and Senior Creative Strategists to foster craft excellence and consistency.
  • Define team standards and frameworks that scale across global campaigns.
  • Develop integrated creative platforms and messaging architectures that balance brand and performance objectives.
  • Monitor trends in culture, digital storytelling, and creator-driven content to inform innovation.
  • Partner with research, analytics, and media teams to ground strategy in evidence and testing.
  • Review creative work for narrative clarity, craft, and platform resonance.
  • Contribute thought leadership through frameworks, case studies, POVs, and client presentations.
  • Act as primary strategic point of contact for clients across creative work and participate in senior client conversations.
  • Collaborate with Creative Operations to manage resourcing, workflow, and prioritization across workstreams.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Advanced degree or specialized training in strategy or related disciplines is a plus
