Database Administrator - 303619

Delaware Nation Investments/Emerging Technologies is seeking a highly qualified and motivated Database Administrator to join our team. We work with the Air Force Sustainment Center (AFSC) located at Tinker AFB, Hill AFB, Robins AFB, and Wright Patterson AFB Advisory & Assistance for cybersecurity, network operations, and system administration for specified informational technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) within the Industrial Depot Maintenance (IDM) and Depot Support Services (DSS) authorizing official (AO) boundary. Network Operations support will include design, implement, and maintain OT networks and connected devices at Tinker, Hill and Robins Air Force bases. Cybersecurity effort will utilize the Risk Management Framework (RMF) per DoDI 8510.01, RMF for DoD Information, AFI 17-101, and RMF for Air Force Information Technology (IT), support AFSC in maintaining RMF compliance under AO guidance and acceptance of risk.

Special Skills/Knowledge: 

• Working knowledge of or previous administration of SQL, SQL 2008 R2, or SQL Server 2012 and Windows Operating System 2008+.
• Performance tuning for SQL server, queries, stored procedures, views, etc.
• 5+ years experience in Microsoft Windows/SQL Server technologies.
• Proven ability to quickly learn and implement new technologies.
• Ability to analyze existing systems and make recommendations on which technology best suits the business requirement for high availability, Disaster Recovery or high performance. Experience with 2012 Always On Availability Groups a plus
• Knowledge of SQL Server Policy Based Management
• Ability to build custom T-SQL jobs for managing SQL Statistics and Index Maintenance
• Ability to take a standard SQL Server GUI based feature setup (such as Mirroring, job setup, etc.), and convert it to a T-SQL or PowerShell based process that can be applied across multiple servers efficiently.
• Knowledge of SQL Server Transparent Data Encryption
• Understanding of new SQL Server technologies and how they could or will positively or negatively impact the environment.
• Ability to work with minimal direction, yet also able to work in team environment. 

Essential Functions:

• Maintenance of the databases including but not limited to OS installation, patch management etc.
• Maintain existing programs based on specifications.
• Maintain unit tests of programs.
• Participate in the design of new or changing programs.
• Participate in functional test planning and testing for the assigned application(s), functional area(s) or project(s).
• Participate in problem solving and troubleshooting for the assigned application(s), functional area(s) or project(s).
• Share knowledge by effectively documenting work.
• Stay current with changes in the technical area of expertise.
• Maintain a thorough knowledge of the assigned application(s), functional area(s) or project(s). 
• Work with the team to ensure the quality of the assigned application(s), functional area(s) or project(s).
• Respond quickly and effectively to production issues and taking responsibility for seeing those issues through resolution.
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Education/Certifications: 

• Bachelors degree or equivalent years of experience.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (ex. Security+)
• DoD Secret clearance
