We’re hiring a Staff Engineer to own technical execution and day-to-day technical leadership across our product. You’ll work closely with our CTO to organize engineering efforts, shape architecture, and ensure we’re building scalable systems the right way. This is a senior, hands-on engineering role, not a people-management position. You won’t manage direct reports, but you’ll lead from a technical standpoint, setting direction through judgment, code quality, and execution.

Please note: This is an onsite role based in San Francisco. For candidates outside the Bay Area, we offer paid relocation.

What you’ll do

• Act as the technical lead for day-to-day engineering execution across the team.

• Organize and prioritize engineering work in close partnership with the CTO.

• Design and architect scalable systems, guiding implementation decisions.

• Review pull requests and uphold high standards for code quality and maintainability.

• Mentor more junior engineers through technical guidance, feedback, and example.

• Identify technical risks early and propose pragmatic, scalable solutions.

• Partner with Product and Engineering to improve workflows and execution.

• Single, public GraphQL API for all backend ↔ frontend communication

• Python for AI orchestration (Langchain, Semantic Kernel)

• Postgres for RDB, pub/sub, and vector search

• C# (.NET 9) with EF Core in the backend

You’ll be an excellent fit if you

• Are energized by being a hands-on technical lead, owning execution without people management.

• Have strong engineering judgment and enjoy shaping system architecture and implementation decisions.

• Care deeply about code quality and raise the bar through thoughtful PR reviews and technical mentorship.

• Thrive in ambiguity and communicate clearly with engineers, product leads, and cross-functional partners.

• Bring 5- 10 years of hands-on software engineering experience with demonstrated senior-level impact.
