Skills
- Professional Kotlin experience and deep familiarity with the Android SDK
- Strong understanding of app lifecycle, memory management, and performance tuning
- Experience with UI frameworks and modern Android architecture (Jetpack, MVVM)
- Knowledge of asynchronous patterns (Coroutines, flows) and background work
- Experience deploying apps to the Google Play Store and managing releases
- Familiarity with REST APIs, local persistence, and common libraries
- Unit/instrumentation testing and CI/CD familiarity
- Strong verbal and written communication for US-based collaboration
Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, test, and maintain Android applications using Kotlin.
- Optimize app performance, memory use, and UI responsiveness while adhering to the Android app lifecycle.
- Own technical deliverables and articulate individual contributions to features and core systems.
- Collaborate with product, design, QA, and distributed stakeholders to deliver features on schedule.
- Manage deployments and ongoing production maintenance via the Google Play Store.
- Maintain high development velocity: deliver features, own sprints, and close tickets reliably.
- Adhere to coding standards, participate in thorough code reviews, and improve Android workflows and architecture.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Relevant mobile development certifications or demonstrable portfolio of Android apps (preferred)
