We’re looking for a highly creative Senior Writer, Digital to join Heart Haus (the internal agency within CVS Health). The ideal candidate will be an experienced and passionate writer with retail and healthcare digital marketing experience with top-notch writing and editing skills, including knowledge of proper punctuation, spelling, and grammar. Knowledge of video concepts and production is necessary, as is experience across all digital media and content including web, social, and email.
The Senior Writer will write persuasive and engaging online content to achieve marketing goals, such as boosting brand awareness or increasing sales. Their responsibilities include creating website copy, blog posts, social media updates, and digital advertisements, often requiring research, SEO knowledge, and collaboration with marketing teams. Key skills for this role are strong writing and communication, creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines. You will also have experience working with and exploring AI and be curious and willing to expand upon this capability and become a subject matter expert in these tools. You will use AI to assist with tasks like brainstorming, concept development, content generation and workflow optimization.
The ideal candidate will have worked in an external or internal agency that values the power of superior creative, has big brand experience and have a strong portfolio showing relevant multi-channel campaigns and digital executions. And you should have strong presentation skills with the ability to sell innovative creative ideas.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Write persuasive and engaging online content to achieve marketing goals, such as boosting brand awareness or increasing sales.
Generate innovative creative writing ideas that deliver and adhere to the brand voice and tone while ensuring consistency.
Bring ideas and copy to life across a wide scope of unique projects through digital innovation and collaboration with internal stakeholders.
Develop and maintain trusted partnerships with peers and business teams.
Apply deep and demonstrated experience in writing for a broad range of deliverables that including video, digital content, web assets, social, and email.
Write content in alignment with the goals outlined in the project brief, along with WCAG accessibility requirements, clinical nomenclature, and compliant legal language.
Collaborate closely with accessibility, marketing strategy, clinical and legal teams to ensure that language meets brand and stakeholder standards.
Leverage AI tools to assist with brainstorming, concept development, content generation and workflow optimization.
Provides strategic guidance and directs AI to create specific types of copy, such as headlines, product descriptions, blog posts, or email campaigns.
Edits and refines output and improves AI-generated content to ensure quality, accuracy, and ethical considerations.
Conducts research and uses AI tools to research customer preferences, objections, and other data points that can inform the copy.
Collaborates with teams and works with marketing teams to optimize content based on AI-driven insights and campaign performance.
Required Qualifications:
Strong portfolio required and link included in resume for consideration.
Must have 5-7 years’ experience with a minimum 5 years of working as a writer with an additional 2 years as a senior writer.
Proven track record as a writer, with a portfolio filled with examples of how their contributions assisted in the development of breakthrough creative, with emphasis on digital.
Must have top-notch writing and editing skills, including knowledge of proper punctuation, spelling and grammar.
Ability to generate impactful creative writing ideas and executions that deliver and adhere to the brand vision and brand standards while ensuring consistency.
Ability to understand a marketing brief and translate the input into ideas.
Ability to demonstrate a passion for strategic and creative problem solving with a deep understanding of writing for both short-form and long-from writing.
Willingness to embrace and incorporate AI tools into your workflow.
Thrive in a fast-paced environment with the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
Well organized, ability to develop strategies and communicate ideas.
Strong presentation skills with the ability to sell creative ideas.
Proficiency with AP or Chicago Manual of Style.
Knowledge of compliance and legal requirements (disclaimers) surrounding copy.
Team player with enthusiasm and positive attitude.

Preferred Qualifications:

Background in health care, retail and/or ecommerce communications.
Familiarity with MRM solutions a plus (i.e. Workfront)
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Journalism, English, Creative Writing, Advertising or Communications, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The typical pay range for this role is:
$66,330.00 - $145,860.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
