Skills
- Strong Java proficiency (Spring Boot, Hibernate, REST APIs)
- Experience with Azure services (App Services, Functions, Key Vault, Service Bus)
- Proven full-stack experience including React or Angular
- Hands-on SQL skills with Oracle and SQL Server (complex queries, data manipulation)
- Familiarity with messaging/event systems (RabbitMQ, Kafka, Azure Service Bus)
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines
- Understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and SDLC
- Knowledge of DoD security/compliance requirements (STIG, RMF) and DevSecOps practices
Responsibilities
- Lead migration of legacy COBOL applications into Java-based microservices
- Design, develop, test, and deploy backend services using Java (Spring, Hibernate) and build front-end components with React/Angular or similar
- Develop secure, scalable RESTful APIs and integrate with Azure cloud services
- Translate business and technical requirements into maintainable software solutions
- Optimize legacy application performance and support return-to-Azure efforts
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in Agile ceremonies
- Document architecture, codebase, and migration processes
- Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards (STIGs, RMF) and secure coding practices
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (required)
- Relevant technical certifications (e.g., Azure Developer Associate) preferred
