- Proven experience in COBOL development on mainframe platforms
- Hands-on experience with IDMS database management and ADSO
- Familiarity with Agile methodology and SDLC practices
- Experience analyzing system requirements and designing database schemas
- Strong verbal and written communication and client-facing skills
- Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, modify, and maintain COBOL applications and IDMS databases
- Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility and design within time/cost constraints
- Write logical and physical database descriptions and coordinate database development
- Collaborate with systems analysts, engineers, and project teams to define interfaces and performance requirements
- Ensure software standards are met and coordinate system installations and testing
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and implement system changes to resolve issues
- Prepare operating instructions, documentation, and technical specifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field required
- Relevant industry training or certifications in mainframe technologies preferred
