Staff Cloud Backend Engineer
Skills
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and automation (Ansible, Python).
- CI/CD tools and pipeline automation for cloud deployments.
- Deep experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and Linux operations.
- Public cloud expertise (AWS preferred) and familiarity with Azure/GCP and private cloud.
- Network, CDN, and identity/role management for large-scale cloud systems.
- Profiling and optimizing distributed system performance and availability.
Responsibilities
- Design and own cloud infrastructure architecture, network, and platform services to achieve high availability and scalability (99.99%+ uptime).
- Lead technical design and implementation of IaC, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation for cloud-native applications.
- Analyze existing distributed systems and recommend optimizations for performance, cost, and operational excellence.
- Drive hybrid and multi-cloud solutions across AWS/Azure/GCP and private cloud environments, including capacity and machine-type recommendations.
- Build and improve self-service platform capabilities, automation, and monitoring for global engineering teams.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and engineering teams to prioritize platform roadmaps and deliver mission-critical projects.
- Provide technical mentorship and influence cross-team best practices for reliability, security, and scalability.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent (required).
- Master's degree in Computer Science or related field (preferred).
