Role Summary:
The Medical Assistant provides general patient care assistance under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse. Responsible for the general maintenance of equipment, room and supplies.
Hours:
• Tuesday–Friday schedule
• No nights, weekends, holidays, or call
What You’ll Do:
· Maintains the area, equipment and level of supplies.
· Performs a variety of assisting and servicing activities, both with the patients and to help maintain the area.
· Provides and gives cooperative and courteous service to patients, staff, visitors and others as part of the organization’s commitment to quality services.
· Works effectively as part of the healthcare team to facilitate the unit’s ability to meet its goals and objectives.
· Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, center/service safety and specific job-related hazards.
· Free from the occurrence of risk or danger or loss. Seeks to prevent injury to themselves and others.
· Follows the center exposure control plans for blood borne and airborne pathogens.
· Performs all responsibilities and duties required by the patient as defined in the scope of service, to assure that the unique nature of the client is addressed.
· Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.
· Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a center/unit team to facilitate the center and unit’s ability to meet its goals and objectives.
· Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
What You’ll Bring:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Successful completion of state-approved Medical Assistant Certification course or other education that meets state certification requirements
· BLS certification
· Specialty certification in related department preferred
