Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business is searching for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment.
Core responsibilities include:
Research in the intersection of discrete optimization and machine learning, including algorithmic fairness
Formulation of new problems and research directions and translating topical issues into algorithmic problems
Designing new algorithms and investigating their performance on synthetic and actual data
Participate in writing up the results and submission for scientific publication
Collaborate with and mentor doctoral students engaged in the projects
Other duties as assigned

PhD in a related field required
Experience working on and publishing refereed papers on problems related to discrete and continuous optimization and machine learning
A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.

Sponsorship: Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work for CMU in the United States. CMU will not sponsor or take over the sponsorship of an employment visa for this opportunity. Funding: This is a grant-funded position.
Fixed Term: This is a flexible-term position with an estimated duration of 18 months.
