Skills
- Deep expertise with Ruby on Rails focusing on infrastructure and architecture
- Experience with MySQL and/or PostgreSQL
- Proven track record improving performance, scalability, and reliability
- Experience building internal tools, SDKs, or developer libraries
- Familiarity with observability, monitoring and SRE practices
- Strong written and spoken English (CEFR C2 / ILR 5)
- Comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced, fully remote environment
Responsibilities
- Maintain and modernize the Rails stack, including dependency upgrades, security hardening, and performance improvements
- Build internal tools, SDKs, and libraries to improve developer experience and platform scalability
- Collaborate with front-end engineers and SREs on observability, performance, and reliability initiatives
- Identify and design in-house systems to replace costly third-party services
- Contribute to architectural decisions to improve performance, security, and cost efficiency
- Drive implementation of best practices, documentation, and cross-team enablement
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Relevant professional training or certifications in backend or infrastructure engineering are a plus
