- 6+ years designing, building, and scaling distributed systems and big data applications
- Experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Development experience with relational and non-relational databases
- Strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, and software design
- Excellent communication skills for working with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Comfortable with ambiguity and able to turn high-level goals into clear deliverables
- Interest in science and learning new technical and scientific domains
- Exposure to building AI/ML infrastructure is a plus
Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable distributed systems for imaging, computational biology, and data visualization
- Design stable, performant APIs for internal and client-facing products
- Collaborate with Product Managers, AI researchers, and scientists to shape long-term product and technical vision
- Continuously improve product architecture and build reusable tools and components
- Provide technical leadership, promote engineering best practices, and mentor junior engineers
- Solve complex problems with creativity, speed, and efficiency and learn new technologies as needed
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
