Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack
Skills
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong full-stack experience with React/Next.js
- Backend development experience in Go (preferred)
- Experience designing and implementing user-facing APIs
- Cloud-native experience with AWS/GCP/Azure
- Container orchestration knowledge (Kubernetes strongly preferred)
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Crossplane) and CI/CD
- Test-first and DevSecOps mindset
- Proven ability to diagnose and debug complex production systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical audiences
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and deliver high-quality full-stack features across Next.js front-end and Go back-end services.
- Rapidly onboard to Cake’s architecture (Next.js, Go Kubernetes Operator, Crossplane, Terraform) and identify technical debt.
- Lead at least one major product feature or architectural refactor from concept to production within early months.
- Drive code quality, security, and performance through reviews, testing, and strong engineering practices.
- Mentor teammates via knowledge-sharing sessions, pair programming, and constructive feedback.
- Engage directly with customers to troubleshoot issues and translate feedback into product improvements.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to respond to critical production incidents.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred
- Or equivalent professional experience
