Meet Luke Revell, a NextGen Intern of Class 2024

Meet Luke Revell, a high school senior and incoming college football player at Carleton College. With aspirations to major in economics and pursue an MBA, Luke has already earned multiple athletic and academic honors throughout his high school career.

Named captain of the football team in his senior year, Luke is a member in good standing of the National Honor Society and has received accolades such as the NFF Scholar-Athlete award, the Bulldog Award, and recognition as an AFCA Academic All-State player. He will also be playing in the prestigious North-South All-Star Game.

Beyond athletics, Luke has excelled in business clubs like DECA and BPA, winning multiple competitions and serving as co-president of DECA. He thrives in leadership roles and enjoys activities such as analysis, planning, problem-solving, and debating. With a track record of success both on and off the field, Luke is poised for a bright future in academics, athletics, and leadership.

Bio: Tell us about yourself 🎒

I am an incoming college football player at Carleton College. I plan to major in economics before pursuing my MBA. I have garnered multiple athletic and academic honors throughout my high school career. I was named captain of the football team my senior year, am a member in good standing of the National Honor Society, was named an NFF Scholar-Athlete, won the Bulldog Award (major award each sport gives out at Columbus North), I will be playing in the North-South All-Star Game, was named AFCA Academic All-State, received an academic letter and chevron, have been on the honor roll every semester, and was named to the All-Area Team. I have also participated in two business clubs, DECA and BPA. I won multiple competitions in both clubs and was named co-president of DECA. I enjoy and excel in leadership roles, performing analysis, planning, problem-solving, and debating.

A day in the life: Tell us about a typical day as an intern in your field, or if you haven't started, share a bit about your life as a college student. 🌞

The first order of business is going over my main priorities and ensuring that all ongoing projects are up to date. So far, the vast majority of my internship has been spent researching different marketing strategies and cost-benefit analysis. When I am not doing research, I am developing and evolving our current marketing plan to best achieve our goals.

Internships: What excites you the most about your internship at Chick-fil-A? 🎉

I am most excited for the opportunities that this internship gives me. For one, this internship will open the door for other professional opportunities in the future. Second and far more valuable, it will provide me the opportunity to learn how to be successful in a marketing role in the real world. I will also develop my leadership, communication, problem-solving, and countless other crucial skills in the process.

Shoutouts: Who has been an advocate and supporter of you? 📣

All of the directors at the store have been incredibly encouraging. Our executive director and the person I directly report to, Jenn Potts, should be recognized in particular for this due to the immense trust in me and the stewardship she has granted me.

What's one piece of advice or tip you'd give to yourself or other students? 💼

Hard work takes time, you can’t build a house without a foundation.
