Global Procurement Analyst

Block is one company built from many blocks, all united by the same purpose of economic empowerment. The blocks that form our foundational teams — People, Finance, Counsel, Hardware, Information Security, Platform Infrastructure Engineering, and more — provide support and guidance at the corporate level. They work across business groups and around the globe, spanning time zones and disciplines to develop inclusive People policies, forecast finances, give legal counsel, safeguard systems, nurture new initiatives, and more. Every challenge creates possibilities, and we need different perspectives to see them all. Bring yours to Block.

The Role

The Global Buyer Team is a key function within the Global Procurement organization at Block, working at the intersection of Strategic Sourcing, Legal, Third Party Risk, Finance and Operations to support scalable, policy-compliant procurement. As a key member of the Buyer Team, you'll help drive transparency, operational efficiency, and risk mitigation by managing the full purchase requisition and order lifecycle, collaborating cross-functionally, and mentoring peers. Your impact will be felt across the business as you uphold spend policies, streamline processes, and contribute to strategic procurement initiatives that ensure a secure, scalable procurement ecosystem.

You Will

  • Review and approve PRs and Change Orders in OracleCloud, ensuring policy and SLA compliance
  • Manage the full PR/PO lifecycle, including routine maintenance and ownership updates
  • Assign incoming PRs, Change Orders, and Help Desk tickets to optimize team workload and resolution speed
  • Triage and respond to Procurement Help Desk issues; resolve escalations, ensure SLA adherence, and document lessons learned
  • Audit team deliverables for compliance and accuracy; provide mentoring on procurement policies and best practices
  • Support stakeholders through complex procurement processes and connect them with the right resources or cross-functional teams to ensure policy alignment
  • Interpret commercial terms in supplier agreements to ensure legal, financial, and policy compliance
  • Identify and document non-compliant purchasing behaviors; analyze trends and recommend policy or process improvements to mitigate risk
  • Analyze spend, supplier, and market data to uncover cost savings and drive value-creation opportunities
  • Build dashboards and reports to highlight process gaps, compliance risks, and efficiency gains
  • Track timelines, budgets, and performance metrics; communicate progress and risks to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Sourcing partners to align on contract and PO requirements, ensuring strategies are executable, and policy-compliant
  • Partner cross-functionally to clarify requirements, anticipate downstream impacts and support seamless procurement handoffs
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, tools or policies through root-cause analysis and team feedback; maintain scalable playbooks and documentation to support consistency and adoption
  • Partner with IT and other teams to define ERP, CLM, and analytics system requirements
  • Lead the planning and operationalization of approved process, policy, or tooling improvements
  • Champion continuous improvement efforts by identifying automation opportunities, championing new technologies (including AI), and supporting change management

You Have

  • 5+ years of Indirect Procurement experience navigating spend categories (e.g., Corporate Services, Marketing, SaaS), procurement compliance, and the full Source-to-Pay lifecycle
  • Ability to apply knowledge of procurement's impact on finance, accounting, and internal controls to ensure cross-functional alignment and compliance
  • Proficiency with OracleCloud (preferred), JIRA, DocuSign, and Source-to-Procure tools; partners effectively to improve procurement systems and tooling
  • Experience analyzing complex data to uncover insights, cost savings, and opportunities for process or policy improvement
  • Translate approved process, policy, or system changes into applicable workflows, tools, or documentation
  • Support team growth by sharing best practices and mentoring peers while modeling accountability
  • Embrace automation and leverages emerging tech, including AI, to modernize procurement practices

Technologies We Use and Teach

  • OracleCloud, Zip, DocuSign, Jira, Salesforce, Looker, Snowflake, Thinksmart, Malbek, GSuite, MSOffice
