Job Title: Blackstone Real Estate Debt Strategies (BREDS) Finance & Operations, Vice President

The BREDS Operations team is responsible for executing new investing and capital markets transactions across the BREDS business, as well as oversight of daily portfolio activities and cash flows. This newly-created role is focused on BREDS’ $43 billion of insurance company client capital under management (AUM), primarily commercial real estate loan investments.

Responsibilities:

  • Primary finance and operational point person for BREDS insurance portfolio, partnering with investment professionals, asset management, portfolio management, and other counterparts across Blackstone to execute new client mandates and investment initiatives
  • Assist the BREDS private loan operations team in developing Best-in-Class processes for data aggregation, client reporting, reconciliations, and loan level accounting on behalf of insurance capital
  • Facilitate commercial real estate loan closings and other transactions with insurance clients, internal Blackstone teams, and outside service providers
  • Communicate with external insurance company clients and internal client relationship teams to coordinate and prepare responses to client requests, portfolio inquiries, and other matters
  • Oversee internal and external financial reporting of BREDS’ insurance portfolio across the business including operational data feeds, asset valuation handoffs, and portfolio analytics
  • Ensure ongoing operational processes are operating effectively pursuant to standard operating procedures, including technology stack and broader reporting processes

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a similar discipline (CFA and/or CPA is a plus)
  • 8+ years of experience in public accounting, transaction services, a private equity fund, consulting, or other relevant real estate debt roles
  • Experience in the insurance or financial services industries is required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; communicates complex topics clearly to clients and investment professionals
  • Proven skill to work in a dynamic environment that requires the execution of transactions as well as projects and initiatives in support of a rapidly growing business
  • A self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in MS Excel is required; familiarity with Anaplan, Clearwater, or other portfolio operating systems is a plus

Expected annual base salary range:

$160,000 - $250,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.

Additional compensation and benefits offered in connection with the role consist of comprehensive health benefits, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, and FSA benefits; paid time off; life insurance; 401(k) plan; and discretionary bonuses. Certain employees may also be eligible for equity and other incentive compensation at Blackstone’s sole discretion.
