Skills
- Deep knowledge of EPA regulations and ISO environmental standards
- Proven multi-site EHS program leadership and system implementation
- Experience with hazardous waste management, air and water quality requirements
- Strong incident investigation and root cause analysis capability
- Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive behavior change
- Experience preparing and submitting regulatory reports and managing agency relationships
Responsibilities
- Lead development and execution of environmental programs across multiple sites and states to ensure compliance with federal, state, DoD and local regulations
- Partner with engineering, operations, facilities, and security to integrate environmental requirements into design, production and sustainment
- Manage and mentor environmental staff, build team capabilities and succession plans
- Oversee hazardous and non-hazardous waste handling, labeling, storage and disposal practices
- Prepare and submit regulatory reports (EPA, local sanitation districts, SMARTs, CERs and similar) and support agency interactions
- Conduct environmental audits, assessments, and corrective action programs to drive continuous improvement
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of preventative measures
- Support sustainability initiatives to reduce carbon footprint, energy use, waste and resource consumption
- Serve as primary liaison with employees, management, customers, auditors and regulators on environmental matters
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or related field (required)
- Master’s degree in environmental science/engineering or related field (preferred)
