Customer Service Specialist (Temp to Hire)

The American Marketing Association (AMA) is a leading global nonprofit professional marketing association seeking a Customer Service Specialist to join their fully remote Customer Service team. This temp-to-hire role supports AMA members and customers by handling inquiries, case management, and providing excellent customer experiences via phone, email, and chat.

Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience using Salesforce CRM in a customer service context.
  • Proven customer interaction and problem-solving experience.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and platforms.
  • Capability to manage multiple customer cases with good prioritization.
  • Strong customer service mindset and positive attitude.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to live AMA events.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer cases using Salesforce and maintain best practices.
  • Answer customer phone calls and document conversations in case management systems.
  • Complete customer-related tasks including data entry in various AMA platforms.
  • Collaborate with multiple AMA teams to resolve customer challenges.
  • Provide assistance with membership, events, publications, and related inquiries.
  • Track and follow up on customer cases timely to ensure stellar service.
  • Maintain and update membership data, resolve issues, and identify duplicates.
  • Deliver excellent customer service across phone, email, and chat channels.
  • Identify trends in customer issues for prompt reporting and resolution.
  • Complete special projects as assigned by the team.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
