Role Description

As a Data Custodian Delegate, you are part of the team responsible for bringing data systems under governance with the Enterprise Data Management Operating Policy within your domains/business units. You will support the Data Custodian to partner with process owners and product owners to implement requirements for data, including metadata, lineage, transformation, implementing technical controls, and remediation of technical data incidents. You will work across business units, enterprise technology teams, and product/platform teams to define and execute strategy, driving the consistency, usability, and governance of our data assets for your business unit.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supports the implementation and maintenance of the Enterprise Data Risk Management Operating Policy requirements and standards for data and data systems within your domains/business units
  • Assist the Data Custodian with understanding metadata, usage, standards and quality for specific data elements
  • Support in the management of all Data Risks for your business unit, in coordination with relevant supporting roles, as described in the Enterprise Data Management Operating Policy
  • Collaborate within your team on creating data documentation including definitions for critical data, processes, quality control, and mitigating controls
  • Work within your team to ensure the defined Data Control rules are updated on a recurrent basis and assist in the implementation of data controls for the respective systems
  • Work with product owners and managers to prioritize features and user stories that enable compliance with the Enterprise Data Management Operating Policy
  • Assist with root cause analysis, facilitate corrective actions and remediations, and support testing and validation for Data Incidents
  • Develop and produce key metrics scorecards and program status communications for the full suite of teams within the Data Office
  • Supporting the Data Custodian in designing and implementing controls to mitigate Data Risks within your business unit.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree 
  • 3+ years of experience in data management in a cross-functional environment2
  • 2+  years of experience in data management in a cross-functional environment
  • Some level of experience related to business challenges and connecting those to data and capabilities
  • Understanding of Data Management and Data Governance concepts (metadata, lineage, data quality, etc.) and related metrics to monitor compliance to Data Governance policy and standards
  • Intermediate competency in SQL & Python or other programming language
  • Basic experience / knowledge of Data Governance / Data Management tools
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners to drive collaboration and alignment
  • Willingness to test, learn, fail and improve is critical
  • Must have a positive, collaborative leadership style with colleague and customer first mindset

Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
