Skills
- Strong US federal and state income tax knowledge
- Experience preparing and reviewing ASC 740 tax provisions
- Advanced Excel skills and comfort with ERP systems (Netsuite) and tax tools (Avalara)
- Experience managing external tax advisors and coordinating cross-functional work
- Ability to design tax processes and evaluate tax technology/tools
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own the organization’s tax function, including systems, processes, and tool evaluation
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of consolidated federal, state, and local income tax returns and other business-related filings (sales tax, payroll tax)
- Manage relationships with external tax advisors and coordinate their work to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness
- Prepare and review annual and quarterly income tax provision (ASC 740), related analyses, journal entries, and footnote disclosures
- Oversee credit programs including R&D studies and support relevant tax credit claims
- Monitor tax law and regulatory developments, assess impacts, and recommend planning and compliance solutions
- Maintain and improve internal control procedures over all tax processes
- Support ad hoc and complex accounting projects related to tax and finance
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Taxation
- Active CPA license (required)
