Senior Manager, Business Intelligence

As a Senior Manager of Business Intelligence for the Payer Performance zone, you will be a critical leader responsible for translating business goals into a technical vision and execution strategy for your domain. You will lead the Payer Performance team, a team dedicated to demonstrating value through insights back to our payer audiences and measuring the additive programs that help achieve performance across Medicare Advantage, Commercial, and Medicaid markets. You will partner closely with senior leaders across the company—including the Payer Success organization, Executive Leadership, Product, and Technology—to drive key company results.

In this dynamic player-coach role, you will use your deep technical expertise to guide a team of BI professionals in building complex datasets, insightful data visualizations, and compelling data-driven narratives that focus on payer-specific performance reports and hot-spotting opportunities in Medicare Advantage. You are responsible not only for managing project execution and the team's roadmap but also for developing your people, fostering a supportive and productive team environment, and championing operational excellence.

Primary Duties
  • Drive Strategic Impact (25%): Act as a key strategic partner to senior leaders within your designated business domain. Translate evolving business needs into a clear technical roadmap, delivering analytics that measure performance, demonstrate value, and drive key company results.
  • Develop & Mentor Your Team (25%): Manage, coach, and develop a high-performing team of individual contributors, including leads and senior analysts. Foster a respectful and supportive environment where team members can grow, providing regular feedback, career mentorship, and opportunities for development..
  • Champion Excellence & Collaboration (20%): Lead your team in agile processes, anticipating and mitigating roadblocks. Promote a "one team" mentality through cross-functional partnership, ensuring very tight alignment with Quality & Other BI Zones to weave MA STARS insights into data products for payer partners.
  • Own the BI Vision & Roadmap (15%): Take full ownership of the BI roadmap and quarterly planning for the Payer Performance domain. Work closely with key stakeholders on strategy, demand management, and prioritization to ensure the team is delivering the most valuable data products.
  • Deliver Actionable Insights (15%): Oversee the development of interactive dashboards, executive-level reports, and presentations that clearly communicate insights on payer performance and clinical program measurement.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in business intelligence
  • 3+ years of managerial experience

Preferred KSA’s
  • Proven track record of partnering with senior and executive-level stakeholders to translate complex business needs into a strategic, actionable analytics roadmap.
  • Deep expertise in healthcare payer analytics, with a strong understanding of payer workflows and data flows across multiple lines of business (e.g., Medicare Advantage, Commercial, Medicaid).
  • Expert-level proficiency in SQL and deep, hands-on experience with a modern data stack, including Snowflake for data warehousing, dbt for data transformation, and Tableau for data visualization.
  • Extensive experience analyzing complex healthcare data (e.g., medical claims, EHR) within a value-based care framework, with specific experience in quality performance measurement (e.g., MA STARS).
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to distill complex analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for a wide range of audiences, including executive leadership.
  • Expertise in data warehousing principles and scalable data modeling concepts to build robust, foundational data solutions.
  • Proven ability to lead an analytics team within an agile framework, effectively managing team sprints, backlogs, and project roadmaps.
