The A320 FAL Operational Planning ManagerII is responsible for overseeing both short-term (0-4 weeks) and mid-term (0-12 months) operational planning for the A320 assembly line, with a focus on ensuring efficient production flow and on-time delivery. This role involves the strategic management of production schedules, as well as the coordination of aircraft movements and resolution of production bottlenecks. This role leads the development of planning scenarios to meet monthly and yearly FOT/TOT targets, proactively identifying and mitigating risks to prevent disruptions. A key responsibility is optimizing resource utilization, including manpower, hangars, and materials, and addressing urgent issues such as material, engine, and QSR shortages. This role drives cross-functional collaboration and decision-making, ensuring alignment across departments and business goals. Proficiency in the APC Jaguar planning tool and advanced problem-solving skills are essential for navigating complex challenges in a dynamic production environment.

Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. Your Challenges:
Primary Responsibilities:
Short-Term Planning (0-4 Weeks) – 40%:
Take ownership of managing and optimizing the 0-4 week aircraft production schedule, overseeing takt lines, completion lines, paint shops, Customer line and aircraft movements to ensure seamless production flow.
Track and monitor key industrial milestones, adjusting schedules as necessary to meet production targets and ensure timely delivery.
Coordinate resource capacity (manpower, machines, materials), proactively addressing and resolving production bottlenecks to maintain operational efficiency.
Lead daily MPS/OCC meetings, providing real-time production updates, identifying issues, and driving decisions to ensure milestones are met.
Manage aircraft positioning and movements across production phases, ensuring strategic alignment with operational requirements and addressing conflicts.
Resolve complex conflicts with the A220 program, FAL and customer line operations regarding resource allocation and aircraft positioning.
Mid-Term Tactical Planning (0-1 Year) – 30%:
Lead the analysis of production lead-time, milestones, and KPIs to identify risks and provide actionable insights, driving proactive decision-making.
Spearhead the development and maintenance of tactical plans using APC Jaguar, ensuring full alignment with FOT and delivery forecasts.
Adjust and refine plans based on production challenges, customer needs, and supply chain issues, ensuring priority is given to meeting production targets.
Lead weekly/monthly MPS routines, guiding the adjustment of production schedules, takt times, and delivery requirements to support strategic goals.
Crisis & Issue Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration – 30%:
Take a leadership role in reporting aircraft status (WIP, deliveries, etc.) and coordinating performance communication across teams, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned.
Facilitate decision making for planning of the A/C with collaboration from impacted stakeholders in Europe and the US.
Drive cross-functional collaboration, ensuring planning accuracy across departments (FALs, Procurement, Engineering, Finance), and supporting critical decision-making processes.
Proactively manage crisis situations, such as material shortages or production delays, by providing real-time analysis, identifying solutions, and ensuring timely issue resolution to avoid disruptions.
Analyze hangar capacity and position needs to support site expansion and long-term planning.

Qualified Experience and Training: Education:
Required:
Master's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field with 2- 4 years of experience and minimal 2 years of Airbus planning experience.
Or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, with 5- 7 years of experience as a Planner plus minimal 2 years of Airbus planning experience.
Preferred
Preferred 5 or more years working as an Aviation operational/program Planner.
APC Jaguar user.
