Job Description

About Buildings + Places: 

Our Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, building and system engineering, urbanism, and planning (landscape design), strategy+, economics, technology solutions, asset advisory, cost and program management. This diverse team assists our clients from strategy through project realization, creating positive outcomes for those who occupy and use buildings and environments we help to create. Our Colorado studio specializes in commercial, Corporate, Science and Technology, higher education, and Federal market sectors. We look to combine beauty, sustainability, resiliency, and innovation in our projects and believe these values can be instilled in any project regardless of size or budget.

Some of our recent projects include tenant improvements, lab facilities, joint public safety and training centers, distribution warehouses, scientific research facilities, U.S. point of entry, college of fine arts and residence halls, military camps, and base improvements.

AECOM is seeking an Electrical Engineer to be based in the Denver, Colorado, office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct all design-related activities under engineering supervision.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, diagrams, sketches, and drawings.
  • Utilize computer software as a tool for designing and solving engineering problems.
  • Perform work in accordance with the allocated budget and schedule.
  • Attend design review meetings, record minutes, and maintain action items.
  • Research and apply related building codes, regulatory and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with multiple disciplines to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Perform surveys, create sketches, record dimensions, and analyze data collected.
  • Perform construction administration tasks, including shop drawing review, site observations, and other requests for information.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit design software.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical components and characteristics.
  • Creative thinker with effective teamwork skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; articulate, assertive, confident.
