Skills
- Prior data engineering experience, preferably in financial services
- Degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related technical field
- Object-oriented programming experience
- Experience with Python and/or Java
- Familiarity with Apache Spark / PySpark
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Strong SQL and relational database skills
- Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and data modeling
- Interest in ETL pipelines, data visualization, and data quality assurance
- Knowledge of financial instruments (stocks, bonds, etc.) encouraged but not required
Responsibilities
- Design and implement pipeline architecture and reusable components for ETL workflows.
- Build pipelines to ingest, analyze, enrich, and standardize financial data from diverse sources.
- Improve existing pipelines to increase throughput, reliability, and data accuracy.
- Collaborate with data analysts to map financial concepts to internal data models and implement repeatable transformations.
- Recommend and implement schema and data model extensions with other engineering teams.
- Develop automated checks and investigative tooling to detect and flag irreconcilable or anomalous data.
- Participate in broader data infrastructure projects to scale platform capabilities and reduce manual data operations.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related technical field
- Equivalent practical experience in data engineering may be considered
