As a Staff Business Program Manager, Security, you’ll join the Engineering Operations (EngOps) team and report directly to the Sr. Manager, Engineering Operations. In this role, you will serve as a trusted thought partner and strategic lead to the CISO/CIO within the Technology org. You’ll embed with their team to deeply understand its priorities, culture, and ways of working, and provide both strategic and operational leadership that advances the team’s mission while keeping it aligned with the wider Technology org’s strategy and rhythms.

You’ll also be part of the broader EngOps org, working with people across the Technology organization to manage high-impact programs, scope solutions, build buy-in, set milestones, and keep stakeholders aligned on progress. You love breaking down big opportunities into actionable programs, thrive in fast-paced environments, and bring clarity to ambiguity. With a hands-on approach and strong problem-solving skills, you can seamlessly balance strategic initiatives with day-to-day operational excellence.

What we're looking for

• 6–9 years of program/project management experience, ideally in technology, security, or product organizations.

• Demonstrated experience partnering with senior leaders to influence decisions, drive vision, and operationalize strategy.

• Proven track record of leading and delivering high-impact programs (e.g., annual planning, defining org-wide OKRs, rebuilding delivery practices, facilitating leadership syncs).

• Ability to balance hands-on program delivery with higher-level strategic support, moving fluidly between detail work and big-picture planning.

• Experience working within a matrixed structure, with strong influencing skills and the ability to manage tradeoffs across multiple teams.

• A strong toolkit for anticipating business needs and turning ambiguity into clear, actionable program plans with milestones, stakeholder engagement, and progress tracking.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to craft executive-ready presentations and distill complex information.

• Comfort working in dynamic environments; adaptable to shifting priorities and motivated to implement new ways of working and culture.

• Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships with HR, Finance, IT, and other stakeholders to align on strategy and execution.

• Experience managing programs through the full lifecycle (ideation, proposal, milestone planning, launch, execution, maintenance), including budget management.

• Build deep partnerships across 1Password, translating the priorities of the Security/IT teams into broader organizational context and ensuring alignment with company-wide goals.

USA-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $155,000 USD and $209,000 USD plus immediate participation in 1Password's benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.

Canada-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $133,000 CAD and $181,000 CAD plus immediate participation in 1Password’s generous benefits program (health, dental, RRSP and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.
