Job Description

World View is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to lead all technical aspects of new missions.  They will ensure that World View maintains our technical leadership position in the industry through the development of “best in class” proposals, technical briefings, white papers, simulations and other related materials. The individual will be the primary technical point of contact and customer interface in the pre-program and concept program phases for each of the company’s primary customer segments.

Role Responsibilities

·         Develop customized mission solutions combining platforms, remote sensing and communications technologies, and data management and exploitation software to meet customers’ needs

·         Ensure alignment between Business Development and Engineering through documentation such as Operations Concepts, derivation of engineering requirements from customer needs, and providing input into the company’s Technology Roadmap

·         Define requirements, interfaces, functions, behaviors, verification plans, and performance budgets for its products and services

·         Generate Operations Concepts, develop mission architectures, conduct mission engineering simulations, and vehicle configuration studies to support proposals 

·         Act as the primary technical point of contact for pre-project and concept program phases

·         Maintain awareness of new developments in the wider technology and stratospheric systems community to include business models and products that address the needs of the civil, defense, and asset monitoring communities

·         Conduct Mission Analysis and Engineering

·         Develop, maintain, and evolve requirements for World View’s family of products and services

·         Define and document product and mission behaviors

Qualifications

·         Minimum B.S. in related engineering field (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, etc.)

·         3+ Years experience in Systems Engineering

·         US Persons only – must be available to obtain security clearance, if necessary

·         Experience in product enhancement, product design, requirements development, new product introduction, production management, project management and program management.

·         Demonstrates creativity in problem solving that would result in new applications of the stratospheric flight platform.

·         Previous experience with Systems Engineering and knowledge of how to document customer needs and transcribe them into actionable requirements for the Engineering department.

·         Experience in more than one of the following areas: stakeholder needs capture, mission analysis, requirements development and derivation, architecture definition, trade studies, verification plan development, interface definition and management, and/or risk management.

·         Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and languages (UML, SysML, LML)

·         Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

·         Strong communication skills

Bonus Points

·         M.S. in Systems Engineering

·         Systems Engineering certifications such as the INCOSE SEP or OMG OCSMP

·         Experience with Product Design Engineering
