As a Mechanical Engineer at Vessel Technologies, you will be crucial in developing innovative, sustainable housing solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including architects, process engineers, and project managers, to design and develop mechanical systems that align with our mission to revolutionize the housing industry. This role requires a blend of creativity, technical expertise, and attention to detail, as you will be responsible for ensuring that designs are innovative but also manufacturable and sustainable. • Design and develop mechanical systems for Vessel's prefabricated housing products, utilizing advanced 3D modeling (Solidworks), 2D sketching tools, and design validation from concept through to documentation.
• Collaborate with architects, construction teams, process engineers, and other cross-functional teams to align designs with project requirements.
• Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to ensure manufacturability and cost efficiency of products.
• Validate designs through prototyping at various stages and ensure concept integrity.
• Research and recommend materials, manufacturing processes, and energy-efficient solutions to improve product design.
• Lead mechanical design projects, managing timelines and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery.
• Ensure all designs comply with sustainability standards, industry regulations, and building codes.
• Present design concepts and progress to leadership and project stakeholders, providing technical insights and recommendations.

• 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, product design, or product development.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, including 3D modeling, sheetmetal, large assembly management, and 2D detailing.
• Experience with DFM/DFA principles and an understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
• Knowledge of sustainable design principles and modern building systems is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication skills for presenting design concepts and collaborating across teams.
• Project management experience and the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
