About You:

We are seeking a Performance Test Engineer to build and evolve Versana’s performance testing framework to ensure stability, scalability and reliability across web, API, and data-processing services. The ideal candidate will design, implement, automate, and analyze performance test in Agile environments and collaborate with the engineering team to resolve bottlenecks and optimize throughput, latency, and resource utilization. 


Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain performance test plans, scenarios, and scripts (JMeter, k6).
  • Automate performance tests in CI/CD pipelines (GitHub/ADO/AzureDevops) with environment provisioning.
  • Define SLAs/SLOs and benchmark targets, establish baselines and regression gates.
  • Execute load, stress, soak, spike, and capacity tests, capture and analyze metrics.
  • Diagnose bottlenecks across app, DB, network, and container layers and recommend tuning actions.
  • Integrate monitoring/telemetry (Datadog) and produce actionable reports for engineering and leadership.
  • Collaborate with architects on system design for performance, resiliency, and cost efficiency.
  • Contribute to reusable test data strategies and shift-left performance validations in Scrum teams.


Must Haves
  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years in performance testing for enterprise applications.
  • Proven expertise in script creation, scenario design, execution, and result analysis using JMeter and/or k6.
  • Strong programming/scripting skills in Java and JavaScript, experience with test harnesses and custom plugins.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with messaging, caches, and databases, SQL proficiency for data validation and query tuning.
  • Experience integrating performance tests into CI/CD, artifact versioning and results gating.
  • Proficient with observability/APM tools (e.g., Datadog) and log/trace correlation.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and documentation skills and ability to translate findings into measurable improvements.


$115,000 - $150,000 a year
