We are seeking a postdoctoral fellow to join Dr. Yaolin Pei’s research team at the UT Austin School of Nursing. This position offers an exciting opportunity to engage in interdisciplinary, high-impact research focused on aging and end-of-life care.
Purpose
The postdoctoral fellow will work under the mentorship of Dr.Yaolin Pei, awardee of the NIH Pathway to Independence Award (R00). Our team is examining the feasibility, acceptability, and efficacy of a culturally adapted decision aid intervention regarding feeding related decision-making among Chinese American dementia caregivers.
Responsibilities
Collect qualitative and quantitative data as required by project needs
Assist with program management, including IRB submission/modification, data management with RedCap, and data analysis
Lead and co-author peer reviewed publications
Support grant development and strengthen grant writing skills
Participate in mentorship and career development activities
Other duties assigned by the PI
Required Qualifications
Candidates must have received their PhD within the past 3 years. We welcome applicants from a wide range of disciplines, including but not limited to:
Nursing
Social work
Public health
Medicine
Psychology
Gerontology
Human Development and Family studies
Other related fields in aging and end-of-life care
Ideal candidates will demonstrate:
Strong methodological and writing skills (quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods)
A solid publication record
A deep interest in aging, dementia caregiving, and end-of-life care research with enthusiasm for interdisciplinary collaboration
Fluency in Mandarin and Cantonese
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Salary Range
$62,000

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
