Skills
- Strong Go programming experience and code ownership.
- Deep knowledge of Kubernetes controllers, reconciliation loops, and API interactions.
- Proven experience operating production cloud services at scale (monitoring, alerting, incident response).
- Experience with observability stacks: Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing.
- Distributed systems debugging and performance troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with multi-tenant SaaS environments and enterprise deployments.
- Comfortable working directly with customers and diagnosing customer-managed deployments.
- Experience with CI/CD, automation, and production deployment workflows.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Go services that interface with the Kubernetes API (operators, controllers, add-ons).
- Operate Upbound Spaces in production: monitoring, incident response, troubleshooting, and post-incident improvements.
- Design and deliver high-impact features requested by customers, from design docs through deployment and support.
- Investigate and debug complex multi-control-plane and reconciliation issues in customer environments.
- Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot Kubernetes-based services using metrics, logs, and traces.
- Build operational tooling for debugging control plane health and automating incident response.
- Author documentation, runbooks, user guides, and post-incident reviews.
- Participate in on-call rotation and directly engage with customers to reproduce and resolve issues.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Relevant hands-on experience with cloud-native architectures and Kubernetes preferred.
