Skills
- Experience with Palo Alto Firewall and Appgate
- 5+ years owning containerized systems and cluster/application lifecycles (Kubernetes/Docker)
- Designing, implementing, and operating cloud-native AWS architectures
- Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitLab preferred) and GitOps workflows
- Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform) and microservices deployment experience
- Service mesh management (Istio or similar) and advanced networking knowledge
- Observability and log management tooling for troubleshooting and optimization
- Strong automation, security-first mindset, and DevSecOps practices
- Customer-facing experience supporting onboarding and operational troubleshooting
- Ability to obtain required DoD security certifications (Security+ / DoD 8570 IAT II) within 6 months
Responsibilities
- Lead design, implementation, and lifecycle ownership of container clusters and applications (end-to-end).
- Design and implement cloud-native architectures on AWS with enterprise-grade scalability and security.
- Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and automation tooling; champion GitOps principles.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code for repeatable, reliable deployments and manage microservices architectures.
- Operate and manage service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio) and advanced networking in distributed systems.
- Configure and operate Palo Alto firewalls and Appgate components as part of secure network boundaries.
- Implement observability, log management, and analytics to support troubleshooting and system optimization.
- Engage directly with customers for onboarding, operational support, and technical troubleshooting.
- Adopt and promote Agile, DevOps, and DevSecOps practices; automate security and compliance where possible.
- Support travel up to 25% and collaborate with geographically distributed teams and stakeholders.
Education
- U.S. citizenship required for employment and working within the continental U.S.
- Active Secret security clearance required with ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field preferred
- Security+ or other DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification required within 6 months (or commitment to obtain)
