We’re looking for a Founding Head of Engineering who will be deeply hands-on and on a clear path to build and lead the engineering team. You’ll own the architecture and implementation of our core product, partner directly with the CEO on product and technical strategy, and grow into a player-coach Head of Engineering as the team scales.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture and implementation of our core platform: AI-powered control tower, real-time visibility, workflows, and integrations.

• Build and evolve real-time visibility, alerting, performance scorecards, and AI-driven voice/email workflows for carriers, sites, and customers.

• Design and operate low-latency streaming infrastructure and data pipelines that integrate carriers, forwarders, IoT providers, ERPs, and other systems at scale.

• Ensure security, privacy, and compliance (HIPAA, GDPR, SOC 2, pharma/healthcare) while relentlessly improving reliability, performance, and scalability.

• Act as a player-coach: remain hands-on in the code while setting the technical bar, engineering standards, and lightweight processes.

• Recruit, hire, and mentor top-tier engineers; foster a culture of curiosity, ownership, and user-centric problem-solving.

• Partner closely with the CEO and Head of Integrations & Analytics on roadmap, metrics, product tradeoffs, and clear communication of progress and risks.

• Evaluate and operationalize cutting-edge technologies (LLMs, orchestration frameworks, streaming infra) where they create clear, defensible value and optimize our tech spend.

Required qualifications

• Based in San Francisco

• Minimum 8+ years of full-time professional software engineering experience

• 2-5 years of experience in a leadership role (EM, TL, TLM, Head of Eng, CTO)

• Backend-leaning full-stack

• Python AND Typescript/React

• Experience at a Series B or earlier startup (or 0—>1 exp at a larger company)

• CS OR STEM degree
