Skills
- Hands-on wet lab experimental skills in an academic or industry setting
- Competency with common chemistry lab equipment and safe glassware handling
- Familiarity with basic organic chemistry concepts and reactions
- Ability to run and interpret basic characterization assays and instrumentation
- Strong organizational skills, time management, and accurate record keeping
- Effective verbal and written communication and ability to work in cross-functional teams
- Comfort working in a fast-paced startup environment with a sense of urgency
Responsibilities
- Synthesize novel particle formulations in aqueous media following established and experimental protocols
- Perform process optimizations to meet internal specifications for performance, stability, and reproducibility
- Independently execute assays and experiments to characterize physicochemical properties of formulations
- Operate and maintain common chemistry lab equipment and glassware; ensure lab cleanliness and inventory
- Record, analyze, and report experimental data; prepare summaries and support data-driven decision making
- Collaborate with biochemists, molecular biologists, and engineers to integrate results toward program goals
- Adhere to laboratory safety, regulatory, and company policies; perform other duties as assigned
Education
- BS or AA in chemistry, biochemistry, bioengineering, chemical engineering, materials science, or related field
- Relevant hands-on laboratory experience (academic research or industry) required
- Exceptional new undergraduates with relevant research experience will be considered
